Negroni Cocktail

With only three ingredients, the Negroni cocktail isn’t just a classic aperitif, it’s a breeze to make!

The most widely reported account of the Negroni cocktail’s origins is that it was invented in Florence, Italy in 1919, at Caffè Casoni.

Count Camillo Negroni invented it by asking the bartender,  to add gin to his favorite cocktail, the Americano, rather than the normal soda water.  After the success of the cocktail, the Negroni Family founded Negroni Distillerie in Treviso, Italy, and developed a ready-made version of the drink, which hit the market in 1919 under the name Antico Negroni.
